The Western Explorer II seats 25 guests and cruises at up to 35 knots. It is a custom made 40′ rugged aluminum boat with a foam collar for additional stability, similar to the boats the Coast Guard uses for search and rescue. The Western Explorer II is also the first whale watch boat from San Juan Island to be powered by low noise water jets.
The Western Explorer II's speed gives us more range and gets us where we need to go quick. If you are looking for a wind in your hair “expedition style” adventure with the opportunity to learn about the amazing whales and wildlife of the San Juan Islands, then the Western Explorer II is for you.
To ensure your comfort, every guest receives a full-length Coast Guard approved foam insulated "cruiser suit".
The Western Explorer II can certainly be an exciting ride, given the speed of this boat, this tour is not suitable for: Children 6 and Under, Pregnant Women, or Guests with Back or Neck Injuries.

Conservation Fee added at checkout. Help directly support whale conservation in the San Juan Islands.
